Shirley Messmer passed away Sat. May 4. she was a active member of Trinity Warren all her life we will miss her. Shirley Clara Messmer September 28, 1932 - May 4, 2019 Clinton Township, Michigan Shirley Messmer, beloved wife of the late Harold, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2019. Shirley's innate kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She worked as a nurse alongside her husband at their family practice. In her free time she enjoyed baking, gardening, and playing the piano. Shirley and Harold lived most of their life in Michigan with a few years spent in the mountains of Colorado. They were active members of Trinity Lutheran church. Shirley's thoughtfulness and compassion toward people and animals was exceptional. She brought light and joy everywhere she went. She had many family members and friends she cared deeply about. Shirley is survived by nephews Eddie and Randy, great-nephews and niece Christopher, Daniel and Stephanie, Sister-in-Laws Irene, June, Velma and their families. Shirley is predeceased by her husband Harold, daughter Sandra Marie, mother Marie, and brothers Roy and Eddie. Shirley was a kind mother to many dogs over the years, most recently Molly, and had a great love for all animals. If you wish to make any donations, please donate to the Macomb Humane Society http://www.humanesocietyofmacomb.org/, which is a no kill shelter, here. If you are able to join us to celebrate her life, the family will be hosting services at Wujeck-Calcaterra on Monday May 13. The viewing is from 9am-12pm, service at 12pm, and interment at Cadillac Cemetery. We also welcome your memories in the guestbook.

Rev Wilton Fluegge Rev. Wilton H. Fluegge September 26, 1922 - March 10, 2019 Rev. Wilton H. Fluegge (Emeritus) was called to glory on Sunday, March 10, 2019. Ordained in 1946, Rev. Fluegge served congregations in Texas and Canada before being called in 1955 to Trinity, Warren, were he served until his retirement in 1987. He served on the Michigan District Board of Education (1955-68), Board of Directors member (1970-78), and as a Circuit Visitor (1978-87). He also served in an advisory capacity and Board member for the Lutheran School of the Deaf, Lutheran High School Association, and Lutheran Special Education Ministries. Rev. Fluegge was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria, in 2012. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 16 from 2-8 p.m. at William Sullivan Funeral Home; 8459 Hall Rd; Utica MI 48317. He will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church; 45160 Van Dyke Ave; Utica MI 48317. The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Lutheran Heritage Foundation; Trinity Lutheran Church; Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne Scholarship Fund; or the Detroit Lutheran High School Association. Betty Jane Skover Aug 21, 1930 - Feb 26, 2019 Beloved wife of Harold G. Skover. Loving mother of Mary (Nick) Trbovich, Dan (Pat) Skover, Barbara (Mike) Maciag. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Natalie) Maciag, Erin Skover (Corey Wilson), Joseph (Heather) Trbovich, James (Meghan) Trbovich, Mitchell (Cara) Skover, Joshua (Tatiana) Pooley, Julie (Phil) Dwyer, Benjamin (Samantha) Pooley, and Kali Skover. Treasured great grandmother of Alexa Reynolds, Owen Reynolds, Makala Maciag, Matthew Maciag, Emma Dwyer, Kaylee Dwyer, Brady Skover, and Lino Dwyer. Dearest sister-in-law of Ronald (Helen) Skover, Larry (Honorene) Skover and the late Roy (the late Geraldine) Skover. Betty loved to travel, play cards, and laugh. Gene Rice was President of the congregation when I joined Trinity in 1982. Always attended and supported Trinity when he was able. Bowled for Trinity in the Eastside Lutheran League and made the all star team many times. Keep Chris and his family in your prayers.
